John the Baptist will help guide us to “Prepare the way for the Lord”
During this Advent season our Sunday, 11 AM adult ed class will watch and discuss videos based on Adam Hamilton’s book Prepare the Way for the Lord.
During these 4 lessons we will discover deeper meanings regarding how John the Baptist’s life and ministry resonated in the Jewish/Roman world which existed during Jesus’ life.
We will learn that the Advent Season today is not only a time to prepare for the coming of the baby Lord Jesus but also a time for us to contemplate and prepare ourselves for our Lord Jesus’ second coming.
Due to the fact that this year’s Advent Sundays fall on key days (December 17 is SPCs Children’s Pageant, Dec 24 is Christmas Eve), we will start this series 1 week early and the final lesson will be offered as a zoom only evening.
Lesson 1: Sunday, November 26, 11:15 AM in Pierce Room or on zoom
Lesson 2: Sunday, December 3, 11:15 AM in Pierce Room or on zoom
Lesson 3: Sunday, December 10, 11:15 AM in Pierce Room or on zoom

As parents, we know our kids are always changing. From newborn to twelfth grade, there is always something new in their development, or some new challenge they are facing, or some new obstacle they are overcoming. So how do we make the most of each developmental phase in a kid’s life? How do we parent in a way that helps our kids feel known and supported? How can we anticipate some of the challenges they will face?
These monthly meet ups will help you make the most of the phase your child or teen is in right now. It’s never too late, even if you’re parenting a twelfth grader. We gather for optional dinner and fellowship at 6pm and start our program at 6:45 so we are done by 8pm. Childcare is available, please note this on your registration or email jill@spcah.org
