Women's Overnight Retreat

We will resume our Bible 101 study together on Tuesday, September 22^nd at 2 p.m. in the Oasis, meeting every other Tuesday afternoon in the Oasis. Our focus will be I Corinthians, since the Corinthian church is most like our contemporary churches. Everyone is welcome! Read a little or read a lot in preparation, Since it’s not possible to read the text of the Bible without an understanding and appreciation of its context as well as ours, we will also explore the history and culture of Corinth. Join us! And no question is too simple, not even What does the word Bible mean?  This is a wonderful opportunity to learn more about the Bible from our own Pastor!

As autumn changes the world around us, we are reminded that change is part of every season of life. Join us for a reflective evening of Scripture, prayer, and conversation as we consider how God’s light guides us through seasons of change.

Jesus tells us, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness but will have the light of life.” — John 8:12

Together, we’ll pause, pay attention to the changing season, and reflect on what it means to follow Christ—the Light of the World—wherever Christ leads us.

Bring a lawn chair (if possible); sweater or blanket; and a friend. This is a wonderful opportunity for a visitor to experience Southminster. As we give thanks for the abundance of the harvest season, we’ll share with our neighbors by collecting donations for the Elk Grove Food Pantry. Suggested donations include canned beans, tomatoes, tuna, chicken, and soup; rice, pasta, cereal, and crackers; and condiments such as mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, and hot sauce.

Come by Southminster on Sunday, October 18th from 1-3 pm for a Fall Fun Fest! This is free admission and we are inviting our local community and neighbors to an afternoon of fun. This is free admission, just come by and enjoy Trunk-Or-Treat in the parking lot, wear costumes if you like because there will be prizes for costumes, games, and activities. Come inside and see our newly remodeled space and enjoy some snacks and cider and live music!
