Embracing the Uncertain A Lenten Study for Unsteady Times
Please consider joining us Sundays at 11:15 AM in the Pierce Room for what should prove to be an unusual Lenten series.
We are basing our series on this Magrey deVega book that explores stories from the Gospels that deal with ‘uncertainty’. In our highly technological, sometimes violent and unpredictable world, there are few guarantees in life. As Christ-followers, we must learn how to embrace uncertainty and make the radical decision to follow Jesus despite the many unknowns we face.
Not necessary to attend our Sunday classes, but if you would like to have the book, you can pick it up at the signup desk in the Narthex for a $8.00 suggested donation.
There are 7 lessons in the book so we will start the Sunday BEFORE Ash Wednesday and finish the Sunday BEFORE Easter:

Embracing the Uncertain 40 Devotions for Unsteady Times
In addition to our Sunday Adult Ed classes, we encourage you during Lent to join with others to discuss the 40 devotions which Magrey deVega wrote in his companion book to the one we are using for Adult Ed.
Please consider joining one of the following opportunities to share with others how God speaks to you through these devotions. If you need a book please email Kathy at lievph@aol.com
Format for this group will be to read the devotions for each week prior to meeting. During the meeting, share what devotional spoke to you and why.

– Led by Jeanie Bond
Sunday, April 14 – As Spring approaches, many of us begin to think about working in our gardens. Did you know that growing native plants is good for the environment? The Creation Care Team is honored to present our own Jeanie Bond, Master Gardener, to speak to us about gardening techniques that protect our environment Sunday, April 14 at 11:15 am. Grab a treat and a cup of coffee in the Chapel and then join us in the Pierce Room!
Luke 12:27-28) states “Consider how the wild flowers grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today, and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, how much more will he clothe you—you of little faith!”
Wildflowers are attractive, but often we have to reframe what we have been taught about home landscaping. According to the U.S. Dept of Agriculture and other sources, there are many advantages to using native plants in gardening. Not only are they beautiful, they promote biodiversity, support wildlife, reduce air pollution, and use less water. Learn more about how to include native plants in your garden and containers.
