We offer childcare for infants and preschool children in our welcoming nursery from 8:50am to 12:10pm every Sunday morning. Kingdom Doors (K-3rd grade)
Ages: Kindergarten – 3rd Grade
Location: 2nd Floor Education Wing – Tabernacle Classroom
Time: 10:00am – 10:55 am
In order to learn about God in a fun, personal, and vibrant way each Sunday the Kingdom Doors children experience a different rotation in a rotational model workshop. Each one utilizes one of the many diff the “Multiple Intelligence” leaning experiences that educational theorist Howard Gardner’s research identified.
By using different methods of teaching each lesson we reach all the children on the level they learn best. Through this wonderful learning experience, children come to know, understand, and experience God’s word in ways that they can understand and apply to their own lives!
In each lesson, the children come to know the Bible and God through a variety of different intelligences, conveyed through different workshops – computers,
puppets, science, drama, art, storytelling, games, math, movies, and cooking are to name a few! Each workshop focuses on a particular learning style and incorporates
Grapple (4th-5th grade)
Ages: 4th and 5th Grade
Location: 2nd Floor Education Wing – Oasis Classroom
In our Sunday Grapple class with Mr. Fritz and Mr. Andy, we dig into the Bible and grapple with Bible faith and life issues. The publishers, Preteen Panel, approve each topic so the students have relevant, engaging lessons, Sunday after Sunday. The Bible studies for kids with our Grapple Verses get kids digging into the Bible to relate faith to real life and find answers to questions they grapple with the most.
To encourage our Faith @ Home emphasis, each week has thought-provoking lessons and a Weekly Challenge that dares preteens to apply what they’ve learned in simple, effective ways to their lives. The Parent Connect take-home with the Grapple question and the “Dig Into the Bible” verses connect parents with conversation starters and suggestions to open up Faith @ Home discussions.
The weekly discussions for this unit are:
- Why do some people have more friends?
- Am I only supposed to be friends with Christians?
- Do I have to like everybody?
- Why are my friends so mean sometimes?
